Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration is a 501c(3) non-profit charity which to date has helped patients from over 40 states in the U.S. and 55 countries, with all sight restoration surgeries performed free-of-charge. The foundation doctors published 5 textbooks and a paper in the world-renowned journal "Nature", hold several US patents and performed the world's first laser-assisted artificial cornea implantation.
About the foundation founder: Ming Wang, a graduate of Harvard & MIT (MD, magna cum laude), is one of the few cataract and LASIK surgeons in the world today who hold a doctorate degree in laser physics. He has performed over 25,000 cataract and LASIK procedures (including on over 3,000 doctors) and is a LASIK surgeon for ABC's national hit reality TV show "Extreme Makeover". Dr. Wang is one of only three surgeons in the US conducting a FDA clinical trial for new eye surgery to treat age-related loss of near vision (presbyopia) and performed the first such procedure in the southern United States.
All proceeds go to help the blind patients.
