John E. Downing, MD

John E. Downing, MD is the Managing Partner for Downing-McPeak Vision Centers based in Bowling Green and Glasgow, KY. He has been a Visiting Surgeon with Project Orbis, International for the past twenty years, and has worked in about fifteen different countries, including four missions in China. His practice has participated in doing free cataract surgery through the Mission Cataract program since about 1995, providing free surgeries for patients who could not otherwise afford it. He has been on the Clinical Faculty at Vanderbilt for the past 38 years, where he is a Clinical Professor, and has received numerous teaching awards.
